SCHOOL HOURS
9.00am - 3.00 pm
10 - 10.20 am morning tea break and 12.30 pm - 1.25 pm lunch break
Regular school attendance is important for learning. We would appreciate parents telephoning the office (09-2363654) about absences before 9 am.
Students can be dropped off to school after 8.15 am.
A Clearance bell will ring at 3.15pm at which time all the children must be off the school grounds.
ENROLMENTS / NEW ENTRANTS
Children are enrolled on their 5th birthday. Please bring your child's Birth Certificate and Immunisation records. We encourage class visits before starting - please contact the Principal, Angela Smith.

SUN HATS
Mauku school promotes sun safety and all the children are required to wear a sun hat and apply sun screen to help protect against sunburn.
Children without sun hats have to play in shaded areas.
MAUKU FUN RUN
Our biggest fundraiser of the year, organaized by the school community and held end of March.
COUNTRY LIFE DAY
Country Life Day is organised by the PTA and is held in the end of September. All children are encouraged to be involved in the indoor exhibits of cooking, floral and artwork, raising a calf, lamb, goat or chicken, or bring along their family pet. Successful calves, lambs or goats are able to attend the Franklin Group Day.
SWIMMING POOL
Swimming Pool keys are available from the school office during summer season at $50 each. Keys can also be sold to community members who do not have children at Mauku School.
LUNCH
Mauku School is a Health Promoting School. The Junior School studets will have a "Brain Food" snack of fruit at the mid morning fitness break.
We would like Parents to make sure students are given at least one piece of fruit a day. We allow only water bottles during class time.
There is a pig bucket for food scraps. All other lunch wrappers will be returned home in the child's lunchbox.
Bought lunch is available on Mondays.
UNIFORM
There is no set uniform, but school T-shirts (yellow polo) and sweatshirts (black)are available through the office. Children are encouraged to wear their school shirts on trips and sports occasions.
