Welcome to our School!

Mauku School is a small rural primary school located in the heart of the Franklin countryside, just minutes from Pukekohe and Waiuku. With around 150–160 students, we are proud to offer the benefits of a close-knit learning community where every child is known, valued, and supported to succeed.

For generations, Mauku School has been at the centre of our local community. Our rural character remains a defining part of who we are, providing students with opportunities to learn, grow, and connect in an environment that reflects the values and strengths of country life. We are small enough for every child to be known, yet large enough to provide a wide range of opportunities and experiences.

At Mauku School, we are committed to providing high-quality learning experiences that challenge, engage, and inspire. We aim to develop confident, capable learners who are creative, resilient, and able to work collaboratively with others. Our dedicated staff work closely with students to ensure learning is purposeful, responsive, and tailored to individual needs.

The values that guide our school are captured in both our historic motto, "Not Self but Service", and The Mauku Way. Together, they reflect our belief that learning is about more than academic success—it is about developing caring, capable young people who contribute positively to their community.

The Mauku Way

  • We Care

  • We Contribute

  • We Conquer

These values help create a positive culture where students feel safe, supported, and encouraged to achieve their personal best.

Strong partnerships between school, whānau, and community are central to our success. Together, we work to ensure that every child experiences a sense of belonging and has the opportunity to thrive.

Mauku School is a place where rural values, strong relationships, and high expectations come together to create an environment where children can flourish. We invite you to visit our school and experience what makes our small rural community such a special place to learn.
